ur father's best friend, a true friend through thick and thin, Julius "Schreiner" Klein, in crew cut hair and "Imperial" mustache … was a fine gentleman indeed.

Under his gentlemanly appearance he was, like his best friend Ludwig, a tough old bird, who did not suffer fools and did not allow the new masters of his Germany to push him around. His business suffered due to his uncompromising stand as he learned, the hard way, that "Might makes Right."

I owe the photograph of this "one of the Justs" (at right) to his granddaughter, long after these events.
